Good morning from "Old Mexico". We finally got up on the roof. Had a patio/platform built up here so we can watch the sunrise and sunset for.........oh,,,,,,,, maybe the rest of our lives. A place for me to watch the sky pallet, smoke a cigar, have a mezcal and catch the breeze headed toward the Pacific. More photos and stories to come, but this was too good to pass up. Weather forecast is for 78 today, sleeping weather of 48 at night. (that's a shot at my buddies in Seattle/Tacoma :-)). This is looking west toward Guadalahara (six hrs away) just after sunrise this morning. Hot air balloon on the horizon. The Pan view on the cell phone camera allows you to see down into the outdoor patio/garden area that we're working on now and the stairs we had built to the roof from the second-floor terrace area. Silhouettes of Deb and I on the Italian Cypress trees. It's a little odd how much of a Mediterranean influence is all over San Miguel. Looks a bit like Italy from what little I can recall from two weeks near Sienna. This place also feels like a Mexican version of a rooftop terrace area in Greenwich Village near Washington Square Park or maybe even the Lower East Side. The sounds of cars on cobblestone roads, people coffee chatting in the park as the morning comes up, and a couple dogs barking at one another off in the distance. Definitely a cityscape neighborhood take on it all. But you know what? It's alllllright. Yes it is. Alllllllllright. Headed to a "Mexican Chocolate Festival" in town later today, but for the moment, Good morning from Old Mexico. Thinking about you. Yes I am, and yes she is and yes we are.
And she/they said - -
"right smack dab in the middle of town I've found a paradise that's trouble proof And if this old world starts a getting you down There's room enough for two Up on the roof, up on the roof, up on the roof."
